Mario Gomez's superb second half header earned Germany victory over Portugal in a tight Euro 2012 Group B match.

The Bayern Munich frontman found the net in a game which only sparked into life after his strike.

Manuel Neuer made a superb save from Silvestre Varela in the dying moments to preserve the three points for Germany.
